StableWizard is making substantial investments in the support of new equine research projects. With racing the highest health and safety risk industry in Australia, one such effort is our search for a safer way for the handlers and veterinary staff to take and record a horse temperature with less risk of injury, while at the same time being less intrusive and stressful to the horse, a very important welfare consideration.

We believe that these types of initiatives could completely  revolutionise traditional approaches, specific to temperature management, to the benefit of the entire equine industry.

Over the past 18 months StableWizard, supported by global biomedical research organisations, has undertaken a series of clinical trials through the sponsorship and backing of Segenhoe Stud in the Hunter Valley NSW Australia with consultation from Dr Malcolm France, a consultant Veterinary Scientist. These studies were designed to assess different temperature measuring methods and technologies with horses. The trials were conducted with the approval of the NSW Department of Primary Industries Animal Care and Ethics Committee.

Additional clinical trials under scientific supervision occurred in 2020 that were designed to measure new methods of improving the care and welfare of horses, other trials are now planned for 2021, and beyond.
